I like my scifi just as much as everybody else, and one of the best scifi out there is Star Trek. This is just a rant of the radical trekie with hopes of seeing it truly go where no one has gone before, and doing so again and again.

I was not really talking about scientific literature here. Of course, paedophilia is natural (i.e. it exists in nature). You have to be blind to not see that. However, i simply mean that we (at least i) sometimes look for some entertainment, but with a punch of thinking. I do not want to read a book, but want to see scishow on youtube, don't want to take lectures on sexuality, but want to appreciate some ethical porn... etc. The same here, at this time i was saying that i don't wish to look for the text books describing paedophile relationships in nature, but just see the science fiction story which deals with the emotional aspects of such relationship.
Great story ideas. But, because "Star Trek" has grown into a massive behemoth institution, it suffers from it's inherent inertia and sterile lowest-common-denominator corporatist profit maximization. (It only panders to the dull mediocre majority.) I don't think it's possible (in the current draconian statist intellectual-property environment) for it to explore such modern themes. But hey, there's always reality -- nature documentaries on bonobos, spotted hyenas, and certain species of moles :) http://vividrandomexistence.wordpress.com/2010/11/07/animal-behavior-non-human-animals-engaging-in-pedophilia/
