Sat, 6 September 2008 Pornography is defined in our society as erotica which is not suitable for women and children. FreedomPorn.org is a porno-site which i have started with the intention to smash this discriminatory attitude. There will not be any capitalist bull-shit on there only consensual, revolutionary, sex-positive smut. Currently i am the only model who is on there, but if you are interested in joining the forces please contact me and let me know. Category: Announcements -- posted at: 7:30 AM Comments[0] |
Thu, 8 May 2008 The Freenet Project is very pleased to announce the release of Freenet 0.7.0. Freenet is software designed to allow the free exchange of information over the Internet without fear of censorship, or reprisal. To achieve this Freenet makes it very difficult for adversaries to reveal the identity, either of the person publishing, or downloading content. The Freenet project started in 1999, released Freenet 0.1 in March 2000, and has been under active development ever since. Freenet is unique in that it handles the storage of content, meaning that if necessary users can upload content to Freenet and then disconnect. We've discovered that this is a key requirement for many Freenet users. Once uploaded, content is mirrored and moved around the Freenet network, making it very difficult to trace, or to destroy. Content will remain in Freenet for as long as people are retrieving it, although Freenet makes no guarantee that content will be stored indefinitely. The journey towards Freenet 0.7 began in 2005 with the realization that some of Freenet's most vulnerable users needed to hide the fact that they were using Freenet, not just what they were doing with it. The result of this realization was a ground-up redesign and rewrite of Freenet, adding a “darknet” capability, allowing users to limit who their Freenet software would communicate with to trusted friends. This would make it far more difficult for a third-party to determine who is using Freenet. Freenet 0.7 also embodies significant improvements to almost every other aspect of Freenet, including efficiency, security, and usability. Freenet is available for Windows, GNU/Linux, and OSX. It can be downloaded from: http://freenetproject.org/download.html. This release would not have been possible without the release of numerous volunteers, and Matthew Toseland, Freenet's full time developer. Matthew's work is funded through donations via our website (as well as a few larger sponsors from time to time). We ask that anyone who can help us to ensure Matthew's continued employment visit our donations page and make a contribution at: http://freenetproject.org/donate.html. Wed, 6 February 2008 AnarchistBlackCat — moderated anarchist discussion forums. Ever wished for an anarchist discussion board dominated by an exchange of argued out political views rather than insults? So did we, so we decided to do something about it. Inspired by the Organise discussion list of the mid 1990s (the first serious anarchist discussion list) and Anarkismo.net, we have launched AnarchistBlackCat. We are building a home for serious anarchist discussion and strong moderation of anything that falls below this according to a set of detailed, transparent and publicly available rules. Got something to say? Come on over to http://www.anarchistblackcat.org Posting rules at http://www.anarchistblackcat.org/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=158 More about the board at http://www.anarchistblackcat.org/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=12 Register at http://www.anarchistblackcat.org/ucp.php?mode=register Category: Announcements -- posted at: 12:00 AM Comments[0] |
Wed, 14 November 2007 This podcast has been reviewed by Shelly from Podcast Liberally. Here is what was said: This is an incredibly creative podcast consisting of the host (and possibly others, I’m not sure, because someone speaks in Russian also) giving us regular “Episodes? and then in between those, several “poems?. The poems are the very creative part and range dramatically in topic and length (and language). The Episodes are basically philosophy and politics and news topics from a self-describe anarchist point of view, but what I would describe as European liberal. I mean European liberal because it has a slight edge of “you Americans are different than all of the rest of us? (and not in a good way) but it’s mostly subtle. I have found Europeans think of Americans this way, but I look forward to hearing more of his opinions not just on world events, politics, family, philosophy, etc., but also of how we Americans appear to the rest of the world. It’s just something he mentions in Episode 50 so it’s not pervasive throughout the podcast. Many of the episodes are personal thoughts on various things and these “poems? are creative and hard to describe. Because they are short I recommend you listen to a lot of them. Check out the podcast on libsyn or through the iTunes link. I may very well add to this review as I listen to a few more of the longer Episodes. I’m not sure if this is the logo for the show either, but it’s what I could find. Please correct me if I’m wrong VolodyA_V_A! I will have more to say on this one in the podcast. I definitely recommend you listen to it for a different point of view that isn’t usual American politics. Category: Announcements -- posted at: 9:00 AM Comments[0] |
Tue, 13 November 2007 After reading the story of lyrical terrorist one really doesn't want to write poetry any longer. I mean we, the poets, have always used exaggerations, hyperbolies, and just plain old metaphors to express ourselves. And now somebody comes in and says that this is an act of Terrorism. Really, really bad. Category: Poetry Category: Announcements -- posted at: 10:15 AM Comments[0] |

Mon, 11 September 2006 “If you are not PART of the media, you do not exist.” - Malcolm McLaren Cory Doctorow appeared on Episode 68 of This Week in Tech, the frontmost running podcast about technology, and announced that WIPO ("World Intellectual Property Organization"), an industry association which attempts to set global regulation on copyright and royalties, is currently attempting to ratify a new set of regulations which reduces the right of individual podcasters across the globe, and defines a rigid ceiling of what a "podcast" is supposed to be, limiting the innovation of the masses in the name of a small percentage of large corporations´ copyright of webcasts. The rights of Creative Commons copyright license holders will no longer have full control over the rights of their content if this happens.
This will strip away our rights to do with our content as we please if distributed through a third-party. It will no longer be a “lawyer-free zone”. EFF.org, (The Electronic Frontier Foundation) is calling upon all podcasters and organizations, affiliations, groups, and hosting providers to add your name to an online letter to WIPO and stop these additional regulations from happening.
