Freedom, Equality, Brotherhood. But Freedom is first! In this episode i discuss why i support equality, but only if it is equality of freedom. Those who support marriage, slavery, prisons, capitalism, etc. will be offended! (Just like with other things on this podcast).

Nope, I said dispute resolution and defense organizations should be voluntarily subscribed to and funded -- which probably includes various forms of punishment (prison/therapy) systems (from punitive to restorative). How exactly disputes between such organizations will be dealt with cannot be predicted with certainty, although there is good reason to think they'll be a lot more fair and less violent than the current state monopoly system....... Also remember, as I mentioned in the first comment here, criminals with victims are implicitly consenting to a reciprocal loss of freedom for themselves, so the "free interactions" we're referring to only concern the victim and how he chooses to get justice....... Also, I know plenty of really smart people to take ancapism seriously. In fact, I definitely have observed a correlation between intelligence and ancapism.

The choice between a "deregulated" (free market, anti-state) and "regulated" (pro-state) prison system (or any system for that matter), is the same as the choice between voluntary-interaction and force...... How do you figure there is no way to influence a capitalist/private industry? Don't you think that consumer power -- i.e. which defense/dispute organizations we voluntarily choose to pay for -- has influence? I think it's as fair and effective a system as can possibly exist. In fact, this issue is essentially at the heart of any anarchist argument against the state: should individuals be free to choose whatever service they desire? Or are we too dumb, and require a nanny state / big-brother to manage things for us.

And that is exactly the problem with "anarcho"-capitalist rhetoric, double negative does not mean positive. If a cat is not a dog, that doesn't mean that every non-cat is therefore a dog. The same here. If somebody opposes hierarchical top down organisation, that does not mean that they must support everything that is not such thing. It makes no sense to support some sort of 'deregulated' prison system, in fact if it comes down to the choice between the two, any rational person would chose government only prison system, because this way there is at least a tiny way to influence it, there is no way to influence a capitalist private prison industry.

I think when people commit "crimes", say attempted-murder, they are implicitly giving their consent to have a reciprocal "crime" committed against them. So, would you not support a victim who wanted to put their attempted murderer in prison -- since they implicitly consented to have their rights/life taken from them? I.e. do you support all prison-type systems in general, or the current corrupt statist implementation of it? Also, you seemed to be suggesting that "deregulation" was a bad thing, which is ironic since this podcast was about "equality", and "regulation" implies a hierarchy -- the rule-makers and enforcers on top of other people.
